Forensic Light Source Applications
Fingerprints (porous & non-porous surfaces using a wide range of fluorescent compounds), Questioned Documents, Biology (body fluid detection), Trace Evidence (hair, fibers, glass fragments), Shoeprints, Gun Shot Residues, Bite Marks/Bruises, Human Bone Fragments.
With the CrimeScope series of forensic light sources, we have one for every application & budget - get a loaner and see what we mean by "More Light Intensity"!
The Ultimate Forensic Light Source
The original CS-16-10 was designed for one purpose, to cover every application of a forensic light source today and in the future. There were 3 versions of the CS-16. Today, all our knowledge and experience culminate in the CS-16-500, the most powerful forensic light source in the world. It does everything the original CS-16-10 could do, and does it better.
All CS-16’s always feature:
The World’s Most Popular Crime Scene Forensic Light Source.
Over the past 8 years since its introduction, the Mini-CrimeScope 400 has shown itself to be the most reliable, most versatile forensic light source. With hundreds of units in world wide use, the best just got better. In its fourth year we introduced added versatility, the availability of 8 position filterwheels. Now choose from 6, 8, 12, 16, or more wavelengths, greatly increasing the ability to reject backgrounds. Even more impressive, any existing unit can be upgraded in the field at any time!
All MCS-400’s feature:
10mm active diameter Liquid Light Guides, double armored for protection.
Filter thumbwheels integrated in the working end of the light guide – true One Hand Operation.
4 pairs of goggles
Rigid, Padded case with shoulder strap for easy and safe transportation
A kit with camera filters and the flexible arm with 2 rugged clamps for use during photography is available, sold separately.
We now offer small Police Departments a low cost unit with a uniquely high number of filters making "Blue Lights" a thing of the past and LED's an expensive "toy".
The HandScope features:
Detection of Latent fingerprints ; Untreated or fumed with Cyanoacrylate. Bite marks and bruising, shoe impressions or dusty residue, explosive residues.
SceneScope, the most trusted name in RUVIS, has for 4 years been the cutting edge of fingerprint detection technology. Designed, researched and manufactured by SPEX, the SceneScope revolutionizes fingerprint detection by allowing for the visualization of latent prints without any prior treatment. Primarily used on smooth, non-porous surfaces, the SceneScope features unsurpassed background rejection. Indeed the SceneScope allows for the detection of latents on surfaces that have historically resisted or been found difficult to process. With unmatched reliability and versatility, the SceneScope out-performs other company’s cheap imitations.
There are many NEW different configurations and options for the SceneScope. Feel free to Contact Us to discuss which set up would be ideal for your needs.

Digital Imaging Applications
Fingerprint and palmprint enhancement, ink differentiation, forged documents.
CDIS is a PC based system that utilizes both optical and digital enhancement. While other systems rely heavily on the software to enhance the images captured, CDIS eliminates many of the lengthy enhancement processes by capturing the best possible images optically. The CDIS can be configured with a range of different cameras, from low cost video to high sensitivity, cooled detectors. Additionally, the system contains more optical filters than any other comparable system on the market today.
As for digital enhancement we are proud to introduce ImaQuest, a software unlike any other in regards to simplicity and ease of use. It includes the ability to employ digital filters, local equalization, FFT, true Image Background Subtraction, and a host of other enhancements.
PrintScope is the perfect companion for any forensic light source. It enables the digital capture of 1:1 prints while using optical filters to complement the output of the CrimeScope series of FLS. At its core is a 6 Million Pixel Digital camera with an optical attachment for filtering and 1:1 capture. The images can be downloaded to any PC or MAC and saved in a number of formats for transmission or for enhancement by any popular software package.

Automated Fingerprint/Palmprint Identification System
Historically, an expensive main frame computer system which enables departments to scan through their file cabinets full of ten print cards and identify a match to a latent found at a crime scene.
PC based or Server/Workstation version
Today, a powerful PC based computer system that is affordable enough to allow any department to search their ten print cards, latent lifts and PALM cards while retaining control and ownership of its own database.
PrintQuest is a complete system utilizing the latest hardware and powerful software that can be configured to any departments card file size up to 850,000 ten prints, or more.
With its high accuracy minutiae extraction, PrintQuest can be configured for various sizes of databases, and interfaces with major brand Livescan systems.
